People all over the world use mobile devices to conduct business, access news and interact with information; including the youngest generation who are not yet able to read. As this generation grows they will expect more from apps. It is this generation that intrigued me to delve into this field, taking my career as an award winning photojournalist, to a Digital Publishing professional. I bring a Master’s in Mass Communications with a digital media focus, fast creative thinking for digital and print medias, and team leadership that supports and motivates team members to push innovation in digital and print publications.
With high foreclosure rates, the housing market played a big role in the bankruptcy of Stockton Calif. in 2012. This story uses a combination of interactive information graphics, video, audio and text to show how news stories can be taken to the next level.
This is a story portraying the life of local barbers at a San Jose barbershop, The Barbers Inc. This digital story combines photography with video and articles to tell the stories of the barbers.
With Adobe working much more closely with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at San Jose State University, students and professors needed a place to exhibit digital publications using Adobe DPS. This iPad app utilizes a custom library to help users navigate through the different publications.
